"More Grit, More Pearl!"

What is an iron horse anyway?

Iron Horse paintings are created to explore the overlapping edges of our diverse cultures and our common strengths. The long-standing tradition of using working ranch horses and the impact of the railroad in our American West are combined to honor our agricultural and industrial heritages.

Working ranch and rodeo horse images are sourced from local ropings, team pennings, and ranch rodeos, and the graffiti styles and palettes used to create these paintings are inspired by the freight trains I watch travel across Montana and through the remote Missouri River valley of my home north of Three Forks, Montana.
